Tah Hsin Partners with Ling Tung University on Functional Apparel Industry–Academia Collaboration

At the end of 2025, Tah Hsin partnered with the Department of Fashion Design at Ling Tung University to launch an industry–academia collaboration focused on functional apparel design. By utilizing surplus functional fabrics from the production process, students were introduced to the characteristics of waterproof and breathable materials, as well as key rainwear manufacturing techniques.

Through this course, third-year fashion design students participated in a complete product development process, from concept planning and material application to garment construction and final presentation. Guided by the core concept of “Creativity × Function × Market”, students developed functional apparel designs based on real-life scenarios such as urban commuting, outdoor activities, and everyday functional wear.

For Tah Hsin, this collaboration goes beyond a single course. It reflects our ongoing commitment to design education, responsible manufacturing, and sustainable material use. By bringing industry knowledge into the classroom, we aim to inspire the next generation of designers while giving surplus materials new value and purpose.

The 2025 Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) kicked off at the Nangang Exhibition Center! This year, Tah Hsin Industrial returned to the exhibition with a brand-new focus on apparel design, showcasing its full capabilities from functional fabric development to complete garment manufacturing.

Building on the strong response from last year's exhibition, Tah Hsin's new-generation in-house designers took charge of the booth's visual design and apparel styling. By combining contemporary fashion aesthetics with advanced functional technology, the display presented a perfect balance of style and performance. From waterproof functional rainwear and protective workwear to cycling apparel and urban casual wear, Tah Hsin demonstrated its thirty years of expertise in garment manufacturing.

With the theme “Versatile Applications of Apparel,” the booth featured different product categories through zoned displays, highlighting innovative tailoring and cohesive design series that attracted many industry visitors and partners.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Tah Hsin continues to put environmental responsibility into action. During this year's exhibition, the company introduced upcycled storage pouches and tote bags made from surplus factory materials. These creations not only blend aesthetics and practicality but also give new life to unused fabrics—showcasing the potential of textile circularity. Through such creative applications, Tah Hsin hopes to inspire greater awareness of resource reuse and green textile innovation.

Beyond its product showcase, Tah Hsin actively engages with academia. This year, students and professors from Fu Jen Catholic University Department of Textiles and Clothing and Ling Tung University Department of Fashion Design visited the booth for hands-on discussions about garment craftsmanship and design practice. Through these interactions, Tahsin aims to bring young creative energy into the textile industry.

Tah Hsin Industrial 2024 Sustainability Report Officially Released

Tah Hsin Industrial's 2024 Sustainability Report was assured by Crowe Taiwan CPAs and finalized on July 30, 2025.

Highlights of the 2024 sustainability performance include:
1. The Group's 2024 greenhouse gas emissions totaled 4,631.155 tons CO2e, a reduction of 128.136 tons CO2e (−2.69%) compared to 2023 (4,759.291 tons CO2e).
2. The Group's 2024 electricity consumption from grid power was 5.68 MW, down 0.14 MW (−2.41%) from 2023 (5.82 MW), equivalent to a reduction of 66.36 tons CO2e based on the 2024 electricity emission factor.
3. In 2024, the company issued 6 GRS (Global Recycled Standard) transaction certificates, covering certified product output totaling 5.97 metric tons.

This year's sustainability strategy continues to focus on energy efficiency and emission reduction. Looking forward, the company will expand resources dedicated to the social and corporate governance dimensions, while further strengthening disclosure of related strategies and performance outcomes.

In addition, under the guidance of the President and Senior Vice President, Tah Hsin Industrial convened the Sustainability Committee Implementation Task Force Kick-off Meeting on July 22, 2025. During the meeting, responsibilities of the task force were defined, and each department was instructed to propose sustainability plans within their respective areas of responsibility.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (II)

In addition to Tah Hsin Industrial's Taiwan plants, the Tah Viet Plant (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) and the Myanmar Tah Hsin Plant (Yangon, Myanmar) successfully passed ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System third-party certification on July 24, 2025, and May 30, 2025, respectively.

As of now, a total of five Tah Hsin Industrial plants have passed ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System third-party certification, holding four certificates in total. The certified plants are as follows:
1. Tah Hsin Taichung Plant
2. Tah Hsin Chung-Kan Plant
3. Tah Hsin DAFU Plant, China
4. Tah Hsin Tah Viet Plant, Vietnam
5. Tah Hsin Myanmar Plant, Myanmar

The certification scope of Tah Hsin Industrial covers rainwear manufacturing, rain boots manufacturing, laminator assembly, and PP corrugated board production.

Passing the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System third-party certification is only the starting point. The ultimate goal is for all employees to participate and be fully committed to quality management, to carry out their work with responsibility, and to recognize that their actions at every position are closely tied to product quality. This, in turn, fosters a sense of belonging and pride among employees toward the company's products.

At the same time, closely integrating the quality management system with daily workflows will also facilitate the implementation of other management standards in the future, such as ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management). This will allow the company to continue growing and advancing. The purpose of introducing and establishing management systems is not to increase employees' workload, but to ensure that every aspect of the company's operations is safeguarded and effectively supervised.

2024 Greenhouse Gas Inventory Third-Party Verification and Assurance

Tah Hsin Industrial's 2024 greenhouse gas inventory third-party assurance was conducted by Crowe (TW) CPAs, and the assurance report was obtained on 2025.6.6.

In 2024, the company's total group greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 4,631.155 metric tons CO₂e, representing a reduction of 128.136 metric tons CO₂e (a 2.69% decrease) compared to 4,759.291 metric tons CO₂e in 2023. The emissions for each category are as follows:
• Direct GHG emissions and removals (Category 1): 1,264.8129 metric tons CO₂e equivalent
• Indirect GHG emissions from imported energy (Category 2): 2,834.4722 metric tons CO₂ equivalent
• Indirect GHG emissions from transportation (Category 3): 110.9607 metric tons CO₂e equivalent
• Indirect GHG emissions from the use of products by the organization (Category 4): 420.9089 metric tons CO₂e equivalent
• Total emissions: 4,631.155 metric tons CO₂e equivalent

Compared to 2023, except for Category 3 (which was newly disclosed in 2024), Categories 1, 2, and 4 all recorded reductions in CO₂e emissions equivalent.

After two consecutive years of conducting voluntary GHG inventories and obtaining third-party assurance, Tah Hsin Industrial's future objectives in voluntary inventory and disclosure will focus on improving:
• The presentation of emissions data
• Communication with stakeholders
• Analysis of emission sources and formulation of reduction strategies

(Note: In the corporate news release dated May 14, 2025, regarding the “2023 Greenhouse Gas Inventory Third-Party Verification and Assurance,” it was stated that “…in 2024, the total direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions across all Tah Hsin Industrial facilities amounted to 4,634.514 metric tons CO₂e, representing a 2.62% reduction from the base year.” The difference from the actual figures is due to the fact that, at the time of publication, the data had not yet undergone completion of third-party assurance.)

2023 Greenhouse Gas Inventory Third-Party Verification and Assurance

During 2024, Tah Hsin Industrial conducted a self-managed greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for the 2023 reporting year. Upon completion of the inventory, the company commissioned SGS to carry out third-party verification and designated 2023 as the baseline year for emissions.

In late March 2025, SGS officially issued the GHG verification statement, confirming that Tah Hsin Industrial’s self-managed GHG inventory complied with the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard. The emissions for each category are as follows:
Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions: 1,319.8937 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent
Indirect Greenhouse Gas Emissions: 3,439.3975 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent
Total Direct and Indirect Greenhouse Gas Emissions: 4,759.291 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent

Among the seven factories covered in this inventory, the Chung-Kan Branch and Myanmar Tah Hsin Plant accounted for 45.11% and 24.49% of the total emissions, respectively. The main reasons for this are the higher usage of large-scale production machinery and the operation of diesel generators to ensure stable power supply. To address these issues, Tah Hsin has already begun implementing corresponding measures, including: increasing the operational efficiency of large machines, optimizing production scheduling, and investing in solar energy and energy storage systems to reduce the significant GHG emissions caused by diesel generators.

Regarding the self-managed greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for the 2024 reporting year, Tah Hsin Industrial commissioned Crowe (TW) CPAs to conduct third-party assurance. The company has already submitted relevant documents—including the consolidated emissions verification table, inventory checklist, and inventory report—for each facility to Crowe (TW) CPAs.

Based on the results of the 2024 self-managed GHG inventory, the total direct and indirect GHG emissions across Tah Hsin Industrial's facilities amounted to 4,634.514 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent, representing a 2.62% reduction compared to the baseline year. According to the Sustainable Development Roadmap Listed Companies proposed by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), the company is originally required to complete individual entity greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory by 2026, consolidated inventory (including subsidiaries) by 2027, obtain assurance for the individual entity's inventory results by 2028, and assurance for the consolidated inventory by 2029.

However, in response to the accelerating impacts of climate change, we have chosen to take proactive steps ahead of schedule. Through our annual GHG inventory and verification/assurance processes, we continuously refine our procedures, address deficiencies, and embed GHG inventory practices into our routine operations.

ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System (I)

On February 16, 2025, Tahsin commissioned AFNOR International to complete the third-party certification of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. The certified factory locations include the Taichung Headquarter (Taichung Industrial zone) and the Chung-Kan branch plant (Wuqi District). The certification scope covers rainwear, rain boots, office supplies (laminators, punching & binding machines), and PP corrugated boards.

As a long-established brand in Taiwan, Tahsin introduced the ISO 9001 Quality Management System in the early 1990s and obtained certification from the Organization for Standardization. Tahsin strictly follows to various of production SOPs to ensure quality control.

Later, as the OEM business flourished and the production focus shifted to overseas factories, Tahsin stopped applying for Quality Management System certification after 2014. Instead, the company adapted an approach of "internalizing the Quality Management System standards and incorporating them into internal management regulations" to continue implementing quality management practices.

Now that the development of overseas factories has matured, Tahsin is reflecting on and exploring sustainability by "redefining the brand image and strengthening its position in the domestic market." At the same time, the company recognizes that in a highly competitive environment, only by continuously improving both internally and externally can it achieve long-term sustainable growth.

Therefore, in 2025, Tahsin has decided to reintroduce the Quality Management System and align with the latest standard, ISO 9001:2015. The company will adjust relevant provisions and formulate appropriate standard documents to ensure precise integration of production, sales operations, and management systems. This effort aims to fulfill the company’s quality policy: "Full participation in quality management to provide customers with satisfactory products."

In the next stage, we also plan to implement the Quality Management System in our overseas factories. In addition to the already established management system at the Dafu Plant (Fujian, China), this initiative will extend to the Tah-Viet Main Plant (HCM, Vietnam) and the Myanmar Tah Hsin Plant (Yangon, Myanmar).

2023 Sustainability Report of Tah Hsin Industrial officially released

Tah Hsin Industrial's 2023 Sustainability Report was completed and uploaded to the Financial Supervisory Commission on August 31, 2024.

The company has initiated various plans, including：

．Achieving PRM (Plastics Recycled Materials) certification for PP corrugated board products and collaborating with clients to establish a circular economy within the recycling supply chain.
．Repurposing garments manufacturing scraps to support local organizations in developing social innovation services and addressing social issues.
．Exploring the integration of blue carbon credits with corporate activities (e.g., Family Day or employee trips) to create zero-emission, educational-themed events.
．Investing in a circular economy for the apparel supply chain to reduce textile waste and address waste management issues through innovative recycling technologies and supply chain partnerships.

On the path to sustainable development, the Sustainability Report serves as a starting point. It allows us to review our operational achievements, reflect continuously, and strive for progress. During the preparation process, we have also gained deeper insights into sustainability and carbon reduction.

Taichung Social Innovation Unit Achievement Exhibition: Showcasing the Power of Women in Social Impact Projects

Taichung Social Innovation Unit's Annual Achievement Exhibition, titled "Creative City Festival – Female Power in Social Impact Projects," officially kicked off today (9th) at Taichung Metro's Jiushe Station, drawing a lively crowd. The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including a circus and dance performance by the "Crazy Dream Arts" team, and experiential workshops hosted by "RE.MORE" and "Seek Light Journey," where visitors could make tote bags and experience relaxation through singing bowls. Additionally, several cultural and creative brands, as well as food vendors, set up booths to showcase the innovative results of the hub's resident teams.

According to Taichung City's Social Affairs Bureau, more than 60% of the teams at the Social Innovation Unit are led by female entrepreneurs, who are focused on empowering marginalized groups, environmental protection, and gender equality. By applying social design thinking and diverse creative practices, these teams aim to tackle social challenges and promote sustainable development. As such, this year's exhibition places a particular emphasis on the role of women. The Bureau also expressed special thanks to Tah Hsin Industrial for demonstrating corporate social responsibility and giving back to the community by donating surplus fabric for repurposing by social innovation teams. This initiative supports skill training for disadvantaged women, creating more employment opportunities and improving their quality of life.

Two experiential activities were held today: "RE.MORE" taught attendees how to create multi-functional tote bags using secondhand canvas, promoting sustainable living and consumption, while "Seek Light Journey" offered a demonstration of singing bowls and presented five-sensory tools, such as fragrances and cards, to help balance the mind and body. Through these interactive experiences, the public was introduced to the core principles of SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

In addition to the teams at the Social Innovation Unit, the exhibition also featured participation from Xingya Social Enterprise and Taichung City's Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center, among others. The event hopes to inspire more businesses and individuals to engage in social innovation and contribute to addressing societal issues with fresh energy.
